The Claiborne Bed and Breakfast in downtown Rocky Mount, VA, offers six unique guest rooms tastefully curated with vintage finds. We provide a variety of amenities to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible including complimentary breakfast, Wi-Fi, parking, and electric car charging. We also are a pet friendly home, with a small fee.

Our Rooms and Suites

We offer six unique guest rooms with twins, queen, or king beds.  All rooms are located on the second floor of the home, apart from the Night Owl, which is a cottage in the rear of the property. Every room has its own private bathroom (all ensuites, except for the Dove room which has exclusive use of the original hallway bathroom).

Vintage Charm with Modern Amenities

The Claiborne provides a variety of amenities to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible including complimentary breakfast, Wi-Fi, parking, and electric car charging. We are also pet friendly, with a small fee. The bathrooms include amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, hairdryer, and plenty of fluffy towels. Complimentary coffee bars and bottled waters are also available 24/7.

Explore Rocky Mount, VA

The Claiborne sits in the middle of the historic downtown area, within walking distance of many local restaurants, eclectic shopping, and the Harvester Performance Center. Rocky Mount, VA is a quick drive to downtown Roanoke, Smith Mountain Lake, Philpott Lake, and a short excursion to neighboring towns on the infamous Crooked Road Music trail.

Pet Friendly Accomodations

All guest rooms at The Claiborne are pet-friendly for well-behaved dogs (limit two) with no breed or size restrictions. A pet fee of $30 is added for additional cleaning. Dogs are welcome in the gardens and yard areas, with pick-up bags accessible for clean-up. Multiple area restaurants are dog-friendly, and the downtown area has plenty of sidewalks for easy walks.

Beautifully decorated rooms, comfortable beds and bedding, thoughtful touches like chargers on the nightstands and bottled water. Common living areas to relax or sit on the porch and watch the sunset. Breakfast is delicious! The innkeeper is delightful. Lots to do in town and there are several day trip options too. Highly recommend this B&B.

We are so glad we discovered The Claiborne B&B. The room was great - nicely decorated, comfortable bed, nicely stocked bath supplies. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed visiting with the other guests. Robin is a wonderful host, attentive to anything we needed. In addition to being the location of The Harvester, an intimate music hall with great acts, Rocky Mount is a charming town.

Robin is absolutely fantastic and possesses that Southern hospitality charm that you can tell comes from her soul! SO adorable and filled with beautiful period furniture and antiques.
